Gum Arabic (Acacia Senegal and Acacia Seyal)
Nigeria is the second world largest producer of Acacia Gums otherwise called Gum Arabic. With an annual average production of about 16,000mts of Acacia Senegal (Grade 1), Acacia Seyal (Seyal) and Combretum (Grade 3), Nigeria ranks second after Sudan in the world production of Acacia Gums.
According to Professor Phillips, President of a British Hydrocolloids Company, scientific studies have shown that Nigeria Acacia Gums have the best emulsifying effect compared to Gums of other origins.
African Agronomics and its sister company exports an average of about 1800mts of various grades of Acacia Gums worldwide. A 20′ FCL contains 20 mts of Gum Arabic packed in Polypropylene bags of 50 kg each.
